Krewella – Troll Mix Vol. 7: Jingle Troll Rock [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Jingle Troll, Jingle Troll, Jingle Troll Rock…

The Chicago native trifecta known by all as Krewella is back, serving up another fresh edition to their famous “Troll Mix” series. The holidays are just around the corner and the Krew thought it appropriate to title this hour long mix, “Jingle Troll Rock.”

This will be Jahan, Yasmin and the Rain Man’s seventh installment to their mix tape series, and it just may be the best one yet. It all just goes to show why Krewella is one of the most recognizable names in electronic dance music today. With unprecedented releases, engrossing live sets with vocals and a gigantic following in the United States, this trio of producers is sure to be the face of EDM in 2014.

Happy Holidays from our crew here at Rager Onions (see what we did there? subtle.)

Krewella – Live For The Night [Happy] [Electro House]

1

The Rain Man aka Kris Trindl was serious when he reminded listeners that the trio known as Krewella did not want to be “pigeon-holed” into a strictly dub-step style sound categorization. If you thought that dub was what they produced best, think again.

Get ready for the latest electro-house single titled ‘Live For The Night’ from this holy trinity of Chicago based EDM producers. To begin, as always, the vocals from the Yousaf twins are blissful. But then again, auto-tune would transform the sound of getting mauled by a bear into something auricularly enchanting. However, if you’re looking for an infectious beat, look no further.

This song is poppy, fun and probably going to be over-played. Oh well, at least you can say you heard it first.

We wanted to preface this post by stating that our overt bias for this group had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to create this entry. To be honest, of all the artists who will be in attendance at SAMF, Krewella has the potential to put on one of the sickest shows.

Why you ask? Cool your jets dude, we’re about to tell you.

Krewella brings something to their sets that most EDM artists can’t provide. That is, LIVE VOCALS. Upon the group conception in 2007, production brainchild Kris Trindl realized something quite important. Instead of whoring the vocal pieces to outside artists, why not just sequester two amazing resident vocalists as part of the group? Well, he did exactly that.

The Yousaf Sisters, Jahan and Yasmine, are more than just vocalists. They are songwriters as well. Now that is the ideal recipe for a live show: The Rain Man laying down those sick beats, while two sexy ladies back him up with cherubic vocal styling. The trio of artists actually met at a frat party of all places. Who would have thought that the chick you were trying to nail would actually be your bandmate. Weird, huh?

This group out of the West Loop has been making tsunami-sized waves in the scene since the release of their first hit ‘Killin’ It’ in early 2012. Since then, a whirlwind of fame and popularity has ensued, precipitating in many forms. Most notably – headlining at music festivals such as Ultra and Electric Daisy Carnival.

The Krew would like to point one thing out to their audience though. They feel as if they have been “pigeon-holed” with their generic classification as Dubstep. Kris notes that “people like to put us in a box, but we just like good music….if it’s between 100 BPM to 170 BPM, we’ll figure out a way to make it work and have a good time with it.”

Can’t ask for much more than that.

These Chi-Town heroes have taken a solemn vow that they constantly strive to uphold – “Making you wet…one song at a time.” Well it would seem as if this trio has succeeded, because we here at Rager Onions are fully saturated with Krewella’s love potions. And we were just hoping to spread some of this sodden mess with you this weekend.

Haha, gross.
