Alex Pall and Drew Taggart certainly know how to remix an indie track. They also know how to gain our attention.
Their latest operation, a remix of the song ‘Operate’ by ASTR, serves to further justify the validity of their style. Personally, when this Rager isn’t rocking out to EDM, he’s chilling on some indie vibes. That being said, what could be better than a combination of both the raw power of electronic dance music and the melodic bliss that is indie rock? If you dig both genres, like myself, The Chainsmokers are a quintessentially fit to please any listener.
We know that Drew and Alex are super pumped about this song so we couldn’t help wanting to share it with you. This remix seems to have really come together nicely for The Chainsmokers. The duo had this to say about it’s creation:
“With amazing vocals and instrumentation like in the original, this song was sorta true to the expression ‘don’t try to teach an old dog new tricks’…. the song was already so full, so we weren’t trying to revolutionize it, even stripped of its instrumental it had class, it was really just a matter of finding sounds that were simple. We see our remixes as always being these colorful emotional experiences and this whole song is this dark plush sponge of red, and once we found our sounds, within an hour the melody was set, and it was just a question of pouring sand into a bottle of rocks.”After a few #1 tracks on Hype Machine, these cigarette loving bros are set to blaze. They give all the credit to the people that love them most: the listeners. Well, you’re a listener, aren’t you? How about showing them some love via their SoundCloud and maybe buying a song for once in your damn life!
This song get’s better every time we hear it.
Oh you liked that? Well then try these.
