Son Lux – Flickers (Zeds Dead Remix) [FREE Download]

Zeds Dead, more like Zeds…

Give me a minute here.

Zeds…uhh, AHEAD!

There it is. Boom, bitches. Jake’s back and he’s badder than ever. Now, onto the main event.

Ah yes, Zeds Dead is notably ahead of the game when it comes to producing quality, dubstep-influenced tunes time and time again. Consistency is a trait to be admired in an artist, especially when speaking of electronic dance music producers. It seems all too often these days I disappointingly find myself unfulfilled when a prospective up-and-coming DJ’s follow-up releases simply cannot hold water in comparison to their former track (which originally caught my ears).

Canadian producers DC and Hooks of Zeds Dead are indeed some of the first artists that come to mind in a discussion regarding the best producers in the electronic dance music game.

Tell me I’m wrong. Do it. I swear to Allah, I will take you out.

DC and Hooks have a long history together. Their friendship was forged over a mutual passion for Hip-Hop and music production when they were merely teenagers. Very early in the duo’s career, they produced an LP of hip-hop influenced instrumentals titled Fresh Beetz, but a stagnancy in the scene left the boys craving from something new and fresh.

In 2009 they began their introduction into electronic dance music. Zeds Dead is the tandem’s effort to coagulate ‘the ecstasy and comradery of house, the heart pummeling thrill of Drum and Bass, the beauty of ambient music, and the heaviness of electro – all in one sound’. Since then, the sky has been the limit for Zeds Dead. With countless releases on many of the leviathan labels in EDM, DC and Hooks have solidified their name among the biggest names in the business. Working on a largely dubstep-influenced platform, Zeds Dead is sure to get your blood pumping next week in Chicago.

They are certainly a group you will regret passing up.

Zeds Dead – Altered States EP [A Spectrum of Emotion][Weird Heavy]

Zeds Dead is kicking off the announcement of their forthcoming tour with a bang.

This tandem of Canadian grime-masters are serving up a new sound to their listeners, along with a taste of the other artists accompanying them on The Altered States Tour. It would seem that Zeds Dead is in full creative control for this tour, bringing along artists they have hand selected. According to DC and Hooks’ Facebook page, this grueling 35-show tour celebrates the fact that music has the power to make us experience an entire spectrum of emotions – and possesses the ability to alter our perceptions.

The given lineup is meant to ALTER one’s STATE of consciousness throughout the night. Those chosen to support the duo include: Paper Diamond, DJ Green Lantern and Branchez. We think this whole thing sounds pretty dope.

You in?
