Top 10 EDM Songs Released This Month (May 2014)

Do you like music? Nice, so do we.

That’s why instead of hitting up happy hour for some dirty flirtinis, we spent our entire Friday afternoon ferociously debating which new EDM tracks are the most trill. And by ‘most trill’, we mean the 10 songs that are not to be ignored – for any reason, other than if you peed your pants.

Then again, peeing your pants is cool.

So uhh…yah. You should listen to all of these songs.

10. Wielding their street sweeping beat, SNAILS is shooting “SLUGZ.”

9. Kill The Zo, ’nuff said.

8. Once you go Thomas Jack, you never go back.

7. There’s Goldfish, there’s Koi, and then there’s this song.

6. It’s an Audien “Revolution.” We’re just living in it.

5. No, no “Ice Cream Sound.” Not until you eat your vegetables.

4. Remaining static will be a problem for die-hard fans of The Knocks. We present, “Move Me.”

3. Porter Robinson unveils another revolutionary chapter in his pièce de résistance, the “Sad Machine.”

2. Complete satiation thanks to the trio that is Nero.

1. Welcome insomnia. You won’t stop listening to this…not even for sleep.

Crossing Genre Borders w/ Cazzette: Sleepless ft. The High

Talk about a change of pace.

Swedish duo Cazzette climbed the stardom ladder through their high energy, electro & progressive house remixes. Their unique sound, crafted over years of hard work in the studio, has developed into somewhat of an anomaly in the EDM scene. As each new release one ups the former, you would think that the Swedes would stay in their retrospective comfort zone in terms of their production style.

I guess that’s why I never made it as a DJ, or why I’m so sad all the time.

But enough about me. Cazzette’s newest original production “Sleepless” showcases the depth and compositional wherewithal necessary to cross over into opposing genre territory. Call this one what you want: we chose melodic, deep, future house.

Whatever that means…

Katy Perry | Roar (Cazzette Remix)

When I like a song, and I mean when I really like a song, it has to have one of two things:

1. Breathtaking vocals.

2. Well implemented vocal chops.

As one can imagine, stumbling upon a song containing both of these elements transcends me to an uncontrollable level. I immediately crank up the speakers, dim the lights, and take a few minutes to escape to a place that can only be referred to as EDM heaven.

That being said, here’s a little slice of paradise in the form of Cazzette’s remix of Katy Perry’s hit single “Roar”.

If you have been living under a rock for the last month, “Roar” has been playing on the radio non-stop. And here’s the scary part: I can’t get the damn lyrics out of my head. As an EDM enthusiast, this scared me half to death. So I decided to search for a remix of the original that would make it socially acceptable to blast with my friends.

And thats when I found it.

Cazzette has been known to blow my mind in the past with their remixes, but for some reason this one truly stood out from the rest.

Why you ask?

You be the judge.
