Justin Blau, the name sounds familiar doesn’t it?
Better known by his stage name, 3LAU, this young and talented producer has grown into his own version of an icon. Justin represents a class of up and coming musicians ready to etch their name in the electronic music history books. He became enthralled with music at a young age, first teaching himself to play piano, guitar and drums. With a knack for success through his diligent work ethic and a keen dedication to his craft, 3LAU went from compiling mainstream mash-ups for DJs to creating some of the freshest tunes we’ve heard so far in 2014. Gaining creative insight from inspirations like Sigur Ros and Radiohead, Justin classifies his sound as beautifully melodic – an emotional journey through time and space.
A few months back, Justin provided the world with one of the finest sets in recent memory at the ever prolific Ultra Music Festival. Ever since that day, his name has been at the top of our radar list, and the anticipation for his next release goes unparalleled. This is an act you just cannot miss out on, which is why we’ve provided all of the information below to assure a front row seat for the experience of a lifetime.
What: Melodic Electro and Progressive House
When: Friday, June 13th, 5:00 to 6:00 PM
Where: Equinox Stage
It’s Cinco De Mayo, and if you are anything like me (have a job), you won’t be hitting the bottle hard tonight. However, we do realize that a majority of our audience is still in college. Which means that many of you will continue your four day weekend by slurping down margaritas, tequila shots and tacos galore.
I would say that I envy you, but I’ll wait until the morning to pose such a question.
That being said, here are some pre-game mixes to ignite that holiday spirit.

No one can touch this kid.
Kaylan C. Brown aka Skrux remains one of the few artists that continues to give us goosebumps with every listen. Just about a week ago, it was his trap-esque restyling of 3LAU, Paris & Simo’s highly remixed classic “Escape” that stole our hearts. Today, Skrux shows off an original production with some of the most unique, melodic trap that our ears have had the grace of listening in on (hard to believe the kid is ONLY 19 years old).
Everything simply seemed to click on “Escapade” for this young, Arlington, Texas-based producer. From the atmospheric introduction with cherubic chopped vocals, to the incredibly crisp snares, to the surprise Kaylan has in store for listeners at minute 3:50 (hint: it’s the vocals from Zedd’s “Find You”), Skrux has thrown down the proverbial gauntlet to any other producers attempting anything close to this same style or genre.
Start the weekend off right with an instant banger, right here.
