Top 8 EDM Songs To Run To (Musical Adrenaline) [Summer 2013 Edition]

3

Back by popular demand, here’s another list of hand-selected tracks that will take your run, lift, or power-walk to the next level. You call it your new running playlist, we call it musical adrenaline.

8. Noosa  – Walk On By (Sound Remedy Remix)
A strategic opener is more crucial than tying your shoelaces. At least if you trip over your shoelaces, you can get back up before anybody has time to laugh at you. But if you pick a bad song to start your run, you might lose some serious pep in your step. Go with Sound Remedy, the best way to efficiently light a fire under your ass.

7. Spektrem –
In A Dream
A great way to kick up the pace – Spektrem blurs the line between trance and progressive house with this mesmerizing track. To escape from sweaty reality, this song is a must-have on your playlist. Because by the three-minute mark, you might catch yourself sprinting.

6. Flux Pavillion –
Blow the Roof
Strength dwindling? Call in the heavy artillery. And don’t let the artist’s wherewithal in bass music throw you off, because this track was meant for sneakers AND speakers.

5. Guru Josh Project –
Infinity 2008 (Klaas Remix)
An oldie, but I added this to my playlist after Moby included it in his set at Spring Awakening Music Festival. Extremely addictive, so prepare for repeat. You wouldn’t be the first, believe me.

4. Savant –
Black Swan
Savant with a great running jam? Hear for yourself..

3. Alesso Vs. One Republic –
If I Lose Myself
One of this year’s hottest tracks, and the safest bet on this entire list.

2. Ellie Goulding ft. Calvin Harris
– I Need Your Love (Nicky Romero Remix)
The original might be better, but this is the version that belongs on your iPod. For your inner-jock, Nicky Romero jacks up one of this year’s biggest hits – which you can hear on Kiss FM every hour on the twenty. But let me be clear, I ranked this No. 2 for a reason.

1. Avicii – Hey Brother ft. Dan Tyminski

Saving the best for last here. Go figure, this summer’s top treadmill track to comes from Avicii. As a matter of fact, I avoided Avicii-overload in this list. Wake Me Up, and his remix of Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall have both frequented my running playlist. But neither of those will give you goosebumps at the end of a long run quite like Hey Brother does.

Because a hard workout deserves the perfect finale. When it breaks, It will also encourage you to high five that homeless man, indirectly run through red lights, and/or pour Gatorade all over your head as you cross the inanimate finish line.

  1. […] If you haven’t heard it already, stop being a hipster – and listen to ‘Hey Brother’. The single, featuring raw vocals from Dan Tyminski plays on Avicii’s new style in some forms, but the melody becomes a soothing masterpiece, filled with electronic optimism and produced for epic journeys (and as I’ve mentioned before, running).
