Now this is what gets us going – a collaboration between two of our favorite Californian producers: Seven Lions and Minnesota. According to Minnesota’s SoundCloud, this song had been in the works for over a year. And according to our Ninja Turtle’s wall calendar, that’s a long time.
If you’ve been living under a rock for that time, Seven Lions has been tearing up the dubstep scene in the grand old USA with his soulful and unfathomably melodic musical creations. And for those of you who do not know Minnesota (and that shouldn’t be the case), this is what Bassnectar had to say about Christian Bauhofer’s song ‘Push It‘, which is slowly becoming an integral song during his live sets.
“PERFECT for when I need a track that is epic and churning, but also melodically hyped.”
It’s easy to see why the prospect of this jam makes us all warm and fuzzy inside. Mostly in the pants region, of course. Does it live up to the hype? We think so. Because in totally unexpected fashion, the tandem of producers open the track with a completely chilled-out introduction, which sounds more like Sigur Rós than EDM. Regardless, it sounds amazing. The subtle use of piano and Mimi’s angelic vocals create a truly cherubic vibe, and a song that’ll make you really happy you can ship your pants.
After you piss them.
