We’ve always been particularly enamored with this Brooklyn-based, rock-edged, electro group that goes by the name of Savoy.
The trio, which includes Gray Smith, Ben Eberdt, and Mike Kelly, have stolen our hearts with countless productions such as: ‘I Dare You‘, ‘I’m Fine‘ and ‘Under My Skin (DIY)‘. Not only are they sick in the studio, but these boys put on one hell of a show (with lasers). We were fortunate enough to all experience this first hand when they came to The Mid in Chicago. Check out our second and third most recent twit-pics to get a taste. We forget to post most of our photos, sorry. Should we get an Instagram? Lol.
Speaking of acquiring a taste, Savoy has left our mouths watering for the rest of their new EP titled ‘Three Against Nature’. Much like Pavlov’s dog, classical conditioning has trained us to salivate on command for new Savoy productions. It’s certainly a bit different from their norm however. To this Rager, it has more of a Daft-Punk, funky sort of feel to it. The second song on the forthcoming EP, ‘Make Me Feel Good‘ reminds us of DP’s gigantic hit ‘Robot Rock’. Don’t get me wrong, it still has that hard edge that we are used to hearing from our friends at Savoy, but with a twist.
The four song EP is set to drop May 23rd via Savoy’s website. Give it a listen because we are sure that you will fall in love. We’ll definitely have the full EP up when it’s posted.
